Position Overview:

The primary functions of a Heavy Haul Driver are to drive a flat bed, heavy duty flat bed, tractor with Landoll trailer, tractor with flat deck or drop deck trailer, and a tractor with a Lowboy trailer. Drivers will use this equipment to move objects or heavy equipment for customers. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Primary Duties:

• Ability to drive all vehicles assigned to them.
• Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, checking that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
• Load cargo in a safe manner as trained.
• Responsible for general maintenance of truck, including but not limited to: checking oil and fuel levels.
• Complete all “pre-trip” requirements before each truck run and “post-trip” requirement at the end of each shift.
• Ability to push 96 pounds and pull 130 pounds and lift 63 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladder with a minimum of 3 rungs regularly.
• Ability to read and navigate road maps and GPS systems.
• Confirm that all necessary permits are obtained before delivering load.
• May drive in hazardous conditions, including inclement weather, tight quarters, and inner-city locations.
• Handle exposure to heavy traffic, dust, fumes, high and low temperatures, slippery surfaces, low-lighted work areas and high noise levels.
• Ability to communicate via written orders and instructions.
• Demonstrate professionalism; be courteous and friendly to customers and co-workers at all times.
• Follows company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies.
• Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively perform responsibilities under a high level of stress.
• Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications/Experience/Education:

• 3+ years truck driving experience.
• 1+ year experience operating equipment preferred.
• Valid CDL class A license required with hazmat endorsement preferred.
• Able to pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, Clearing House verification and 7-year background check.
