Description

Corrigan Oil is looking for an experienced gravel train driver. There will be exposure to dust, landfills, scrap yards, fumes and high noise levels. Required to drive occasionally in hazardous conditions, including weather, tight quarters and blighted areas. Compliance with all DOT, Company and Safety Policies, procedures and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work 5 days a week and occasional Saturdays
  • 10 hour days are typical during peak times of the year
  • Be able to lift 50lbs of necessary equipment
  • Possess a CDL A – ability to operate loader, dozer and excavator is a PLUS
  • Physically be able to load and unload trucks
  • Experience in driving in all types of weather conditions
  • Pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Pass 7 year background check
  • Valid driver’s license

Primary Responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles in various road conditions throughout Michigan and surrounding states.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, checking that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
  • Must be able to safely load, haul and dump broken concrete, asphalt, sand, gravel and other construction related materials.
  • Responsible for general maintenance of truck, including but not limited to: checking oil and fuel levels
  • Complete all "pre-trip" requirements before each truck run and "post-trip" requirement at the end of each shift.
  • Follows company quality, safety and environmental guidelines.

Required education:

  • High school or equivalent

Required experience:

  • Driving: 2 years gravel train/walking floor, heavy haul

Required licenses or certifications:

  • CDL A LICENSE preferred
