Job Description
Spotter is responsible for safely and efficiently directing the vehicle drivers to the proper areas and ensuring that publicly posted safety rules are followed. Spotters are required to fuel equipment ensuring that proper fuel is used, that miles, gallons used and equipment numbers are documented in a legible manner.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to maneuver truck through narrow passageways
- Experience in driving in all types of weather conditions
- Must be able to follow detailed instructions
- Must have ability to communicate effectively
- Mechanical experience preferred
- Job requires walking and climbing in and out of vehicles
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Pass 7 year background check
- Valid driver’s license
Primary Responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to:
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper manner in which to approach oncoming vehicles; make eye contact with drivers to ensure signals are understood.
- Maintain use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
- Enforce publicly posted safety rules and unposted safety standards at all times.
- Direct vehicles to the proper area of the facility based on site fill plan; direct trucks in and out of the site in inclement weather.
- Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, checking that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
- Maintain visual contact with the driver while the vehicle is backing.
- Fuel machinery and/or equipment within an oil refinery.
Job Type: Part – Time
Shifts: Multiple Shifts Available (4:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.) Monday through Sunday.
Required education:
- High school or equivalent
Required experience:
- One year of previous experience working around heavy machinery
