Safety Coordinator

Full time – Hourly position.  Monday - Friday.  In Whitmore Lake Michigan.

Position Overview:

The Safety Coordinator reports to the Quality Environmental Health and Safety Manager at Corrigan Oil.  The primary function of the Safety Coordinator is to manage safety inspections and safety related initiatives.  The successful candidate is proactive, detail oriented, and dependable. Those who have ISO and safety experience and training are ideal.

Primary Responsibilities of Safety Coordinator:

• Prepare and implement environmental processes and procedures
• Helps maintain various DOT required permits and documentation
• Helps develop employee training plan
• Prepares weekly safety topics
• Work with department manager to complete QEHS department goals.
• Communicate QEHs needs to management and employees.
• Maintain Department Metrics
• Demonstrate a good safety standard to other employees
• Perform any duties as may be assigned

Requirements and Qualifications Safety Coordinator:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 4+ years of safety related OSHA compliance training experience 
• ISO process understanding
• Good interpersonal skills and hands-on work ethic
• Able to handle high stress situations if needed
• Regular and reliable attendance
• Follow company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies
• Pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, agility test and 7-year background check
