TOW TRUCK DRIVER

***NIGHT DRIVER***

Monday - Friday, would include some weekends
6:00pm - 4:00am or 5:00am OR 3:00-4:00pm to 2:00am or 3:00am

MUST HAVE:

• CDL B
• Tanker and Hazmat PREFERRED
• PREFERRED Operating Experience w/ flatbed and hook style tow vehicle

Qualifications:

• Ability in loading/hooking cars and tractor trailers to tow type vehicle
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles in various road conditions throughout Michigan and surrounding states.
• Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, checking that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
• Load cargo as instructed at designed location.
• Responsible for general maintenance of truck, including but not limited to: checking oil and fuel levels.
• Complete all “pre-trip” requirements before each truck run and “post-trip” requirement at the end of each shift.
• Ability to push 96 pounds and pull 130 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladder with a minimum of 3 rungs regularly.
• Ability to lift 63 pounds.
• Ability to read and navigate road maps and GPS systems.
• Ability to communicate via written orders and instructions.
• Follows company quality, safety and environmental guidelines.
• Must pass 7 year background screening
• Must pass drug testing

Expectations:

• Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicles service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
• Work with dispatch to calculate out the most efficient and effective driving routes.
• Inform dispatch and safety of any DOT fines, citations or any other relevant issues
• Communication with Dispatch in regards to any potential customer issues such as; complaints, spills, leaks, incidents, accidents, injuries and vehicle issues.
• Communicate with maintenance in regards to any vehicle issues or needs and report any issues immediately.
• Secure all cargo for safe transport
• Keep you truck clean and orderly at all times.
• Demonstrate professionalism; be courteous and friendly to customers at all times.
